CALL FOR LABEL DESIGN
Christmas Beer “Gorštak” – Limited Edition
The Christmas beer “Gorštak” is a limited edition available only during the holiday season.
Each bottle in this series will carry a label signed by its designer – as a collectible piece and a festive souvenir.
We are looking for a new label design for our limited-edition Dunkel Lager, a dark beer with a reddish-copper hue, rich flavor, and strong character.
The beer will be available in selected bars, markets, and on the official Gorštak web shop.
Theme
Imagine a warm Christmas evening at home – the sound of laughter, the scent of wood, peace, and togetherness.
That’s the spirit we’re looking for.
We don’t want clichés like Santa Claus or blinking lights, but a Christmas inspired by Slavic and Christian tradition – with the warmth of the hearth, sparks, oak leaves, and the symbolism of life and unity.
The label should convey a sense of ancient tradition through modern design – a balance of heritage and contemporary expression.
Participation Rules
- Open to all designers, illustrators, and artists.
- Each participant may submit up to three label proposals.
- Format: label for a 0.33L bottle, 9×18 cm, PDF format (300 dpi).
- The label must include the Gorštak logo and beer style name Dunkel Lager.
- Cyrillic script is mandatory, using Gorštak fonts NK124 and NK225.
- The designer’s signature will be an integral part of the label.
Design Guidelines
The label should reflect the spirit of Christmas in Slavic and Christian tradition, blending the old and the new, without commercial symbols.
Find inspiration in oak leaves, wood texture, fire, sparks, and warmth.
We value originality, authenticity, and strong visual identity.
Fonts should follow Gorštak’s established aesthetic – rustic, powerful, and traditional, yet legible.
Award
The winner will receive:
- A limited edition of Gorštak Christmas Beer featuring their label design,
- An exhibition of all finalist labels, in collaboration with Gorštak,
- Promotion on Gorštak’s social media channels,
- Brewery tour and tasting event with the Gorštak team.
Timeline
- Submission deadline: November 20, 2025
- Winner announcement: November 30, 2025
- Exhibition & promotion: mid-December in Banja Luka
